VACC sponsor two AOF scholarships for the Automotive Industry per Year. These are a fantastic opportunity for the recipient to further their career with industry experience and training overseas.
Outline of the AOF Scholarship
Applicants come from apprenticeship and traineeship backgrounds. Trainees must have completed a traineeship at certificate three level or higher and have completed relevant on the job training
The scholarship is designed to give keen young people the opportunity to travel overseas and to take up work with a prearranged host employer. Whilst overseas the scholarship winners can participate in further studies and training relevant to their career.
The major benefits of the scholarship are:
- Partake in overseas travel.
- Meet people in a foreign country and learn about their customs and lifestyle.
- Extend technical expertise via appropriate on the job work experience.
- Upon return to Australia the scholarship holder will have advanced employability as they have worked and possibly studied advanced courses in their chosen field whilst overseas.
- Scholarship holders have been carefully selected by the selection committee and have come from high achieving backgrounds and having won the AOF scholarship they have participated in a highly prestigious award programme which is well recognized by business and industry.
In effect, the scholarship is a qualification and reference in itself which can be used well into the future during the winner’s career for self promotional purposes.
