VACC is proud to be a sponsor of the Victoria Police “Operation SAFE PLATE” program. 

As an addition to the Victoria Police ‘Safe Plate’ one way screw fitting days held throughout the state, selected VACC members are also offering to replace your  existing number plate retaining screws with ‘one-way’ screws as an additional free service, during the course of regular servicing or repairs on your vehicle.

Stolen number plates can create a great deal of inconvenience for you.

The theft of number plates from vehicles within our community has increased over 31% in the last 12 months. The purpose of this program is to protect your car from the theft of its number plates and stop their potential involvement in criminal activity, for example, over 50% of fuel theft involves stolen plates. 

It is suggested that only two (2) ‘one way’ screws need be fitted to secure each number plate. 

This campaign will run through to 22 December 2006, although some VACC members may continue to offer this service for a longer period.
