Since 1918, the Victoria Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) has represented the interests of small business in the automotive industry, including policy issues to government, and to drive public policy in order to protect and enhance the automotive industry profession.
VACC’s Government and Public Affairs Department maintains an active approach to policy issues through monitoring, analysis, and research, and makes regular submissions to government that reflect VACC’s position on legislation and regulatory proposals.
We have carried out surveys that range from examinations of the impact of hourly rates on profit and return on investment, through to the state of the Service Station industry. Our research papers include topics such as global lemon laws, petroleum grocery price discounts, used vehicles industry sales trends, and vehicle safety.
The department aims to create awareness among VACC members about policy issues of importance to the profession and to enhance VACC’s reputation among government officials and the public as a primary source of assistance and information on policy issues that impact the industry.
