To aspire for a resource-efficient and sustainable automotive industry.

To reduce environmental compliance costs on businesses.

To encourage the use of new automotive technologies that will reduce the damage to the environment.

  • The Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA Victoria) should continue to collaborate more with industry when determining environmental compliances and regulations.
  • The EPA should emphasise more on practical guidance and solutions for small businesses. This should be done in a format that can be easily understood by the general public.
  • Regarding Tasmania, there should be more involvement from the regulators such as the EPA, TasWater, and local councils, in aiding automotive businesses in minimising their waste.
  • There should be encouragement towards the recycling of automotive waste products.
