VACC Member Spotlight Ivan Stancik Azzco Deluxe Garage
When Ivan Stancik took over Azzco Deluxe Garage in 2017, he inherited more than just a well-established workshop, he inherited a reputation for quality, community trust, and old-fashioned service. Since then, he’s worked tirelessly to honour that legacy while positioning the business for the future.
Located in Hoppers Crossing, Azzco Deluxe Garage has been serving Melbourne’s west since 1989. Under Ivan’s leadership, the business has evolved into a modern, efficient, and sustainability-focused operation, offering full-service mechanical repairs, roadworthy inspections, diagnostics, fleet support, and more.
“Our approach combines technical excellence with personal care,” Ivan says. “We’re not just repairing vehicles, we’re building relationships.”
Ivan brings over 30 years of industry experience to the role, spanning from workshop floors to senior management positions in national fleet and dealership operations. He is a fully qualified technician holding a Trade Certificate in Motor Mechanics, a Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis, and is a Licensed Vehicle Tester (LVT). He also holds ARCtick certification for air conditioning services and an LMCT licence, adding to the shop’s capabilities.
Currently completing his MBA, Ivan is sharpening his leadership and business skills in line with the challenges facing today’s automotive sector.
“I want to ensure that Azzco continues to grow in the right way, focusing on efficiency, customer value, and long-term sustainability,” he explains.
Ivan’s entrepreneurial drive doesn’t stop at the garage. In 2021, he founded Autostash, an online store offering practical, curated automotive accessories. The venture reflects his passion for customer engagement and innovation beyond the spanner.
“Autostash was born from the simple idea of making car ownership easier and more enjoyable. It’s about anticipating the small, everyday needs that make a big difference to our customers.”
Ivan has also introduced beginner-level car maintenance courses, giving local drivers the knowledge and confidence to better care for their vehicles. It’s an initiative that not only empowers the community but also builds trust and brand loyalty.
One of the major upgrades Ivan has introduced is the installation of a 20kW rooftop solar system. This move significantly reduces the business’s carbon footprint and aligns with his broader goal of operating a forward-thinking, environmentally conscious workshop.
As a long-standing VACC member, Ivan is an active voice and is a member of the VACC Automotive Repair Division Executive Committee. He regularly collaborates with other independent repairers and contributes to conversations on training, regulation, and industry reform.
“The VACC provides a platform to speak up on issues that matter to our sector. Whether it’s access to repair data, skills shortages, or EV readiness, independent workshops need a strong, united voice.”
