VACC Representatives Attend Australia's Premier Heavy Vehicle Showcase

The Victorian Automotive Chamber of Commerce (VACC) heavy vehicle division policy team, Ali Raza and Dr. Imogen Garcia Reid, recently attended the 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, reinforcing their commitment to staying at the forefront of Australia's critical heavy vehicle sector.

The Brisbane Truck Show, recognised as the largest display of trucks, trailers, components, equipment and technology in the Southern Hemisphere, provided the VACC team with firsthand access to the latest technological advancements transforming the industry. The event, held from 15th to 18th May 2025 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, showcased innovations focused on efficiency and safety improvements across the heavy vehicle sector.

The visit underscores the significance of the heavy vehicle industry to Australia's economic fabric. Heavy vehicle manufacturing represents one of Australia's last major sectors for automotive manufacturing, excluding caravans, and continues to serve as a major contributor to the national economy. The industry's importance cannot be overstated; without trucks, Australia would quite simply stop.

VACC's heavy vehicle members represent a diverse ecosystem spanning certification and modification services, manufacturing operations, retail businesses, and repair facilities. These industry professionals are crucial in maintaining and advancing Australia's heavy vehicle fleet, ensuring the nation's supply chains remain robust and efficient.

The technological advancements displayed at the show highlighted the industry's ongoing evolution towards improved safety standards and operational efficiency. From advanced driver assistance systems to fuel-efficient powertrains, the innovations showcased represent the future of Australian heavy vehicle operations.

The 2023 Brisbane Truck Show attracted a record turnout of 42,855 attendees across the four-day event, demonstrating the industry's commitment to collaboration and knowledge sharing. This year's event continued that tradition, providing a platform for industry professionals to network, learn, and drive the sector forward.

The VACC team's attendance reflects the organisation's dedication to supporting its heavy vehicle members by staying connected with industry developments and emerging trends. As Australia's automotive landscape continues to evolve, the heavy vehicle sector remains a cornerstone of manufacturing capability and essential services. The insights gained from this year's show will inform VACC's ongoing advocacy and support services for its heavy vehicle members.
